Whatever the on-line banking is looking for, it doesn't find it there in either Firefox or Vivaldi. I had Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 installed in an installation of MX Linux 18.3 (which is very nice). I've looked through a ton of code such as I could get, and I could not tell what it is looking for. How does it test whether Adobe Reader is installed? Maybe you can build a dummy that makes the Javascript code think that Adobe reader 7.0 is installed? What actually checks the existence of Adobe Reader 7.0 or higher? Is it Javascript that comes with the page from your bank's server? The only way I can see statements is with Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. It's a bank with very poor on-line banking software. Is there a way let Firefox in Linux spoof that the required software is installed? I have a business bank account (for homeowners association) at Synovus bank with on-line banking that will not show or download a pdf statement without having Adobe Reader 7.0 or higher installed.
